First edition, first impression, in an excellent example of the Anthony Butts jacket, of this scarce Hogarth Press novel, the debut of Woolf's friend Laurens van der Post. Of the 1,250 copies printed, Woolmer states that 300 were pulped. Octavo. Original green cloth, spine lettered in black. With dust jacket designed by Anthony Butts. A hint of sunning to spine, the boards otherwise bright, the binding sound, internally crisp. A superb copy in fresh jacket with only minimal rubbing to corners. Woolmer 353.
