Published by Thomas Fraser, Dalbeattie, 1896, second (revised and enlarged) edition. This copy is one of 250 copies published in demy quarto format which contain additional illustrations. There were also 1000 copies published in demy octavo format. Fawn coloured buckram cloth boards, gilt lettering and patterns embossed to spine, large gilt lion to front cover, no dustwrapper. Bevelled edges. Teg. 11.5ins x 9.5ins, xvi, 380pp, iii (index) plus map, frontis portrait and 45 tisue guarded plates. Also 84 other illustrations within the text. In total therefore there are the 85 illustrations of the regular edition and a further 45 new ones. Boards rather grubby and finger stained. Contents VG. A little rubbed to the corners, overall VG. Nb very heavy book (3.7k pre packing), extra postage will be required, please e-mail for quote.
