Hardcover. Green ruled cloth. Titles stamped in gilt on spine. A collection of ten condensed versions of Dickens' works, taken from his wildly popular dramatic reading tours of Great Britain and the United States. This book contains ten stories, each with its own title page: A Christmas Carol, Bardell and Pickwick, David Copperfield, Mr. Bob Sawyer's Party, The Story of Little Dombey, Nicholas Nickleby (at the Yorkshire School) , Boots at the Holly-Tree Inn, Dr. Marigold, Nicholas Nickleby (Short Reading) , and Mrs. Gamp. Each story has a frontispiece illustration by S. Eytinge, Jr, except for the first Nicholas Nickleby tale and Boots at the Holly-Tree Inn. Two pages of publisher advertisements precede overall title page. Each of the readings has its own pagination and several blank leaves at the end. ; 12mo 7" - 7½" tall .
