The best known books of the series are the 12 collections of fairy tales also known as Andrew Lang's "Coloured" Fairy Books or Andrew Lang's Fairy Books of Many Colors. In all, the volumes feature 798 stories… The best-known volumes of the series are the 12 Fairy Books, each of which is distinguished by its own color. The Langs did not collect any fairy tales from oral primary sources, yet only they and Madame d'Aulnoy (1651–1705) have collected tales from such a large variety of sources. A rare addition for the Lang/fairy tale collector. We have found only one other copy of this book available on the internet – a slightly different edition, priced at $200+, in similar condition.

Condition of the book is Fair. Gift inscription in pencil on frontis page. Volume has been solidly rebound, with significant wear to several interior pages, in particular pp. ~11 (see damage in photo) and a later page that is ~2/3 missing (see photo). In general, most issues are confined to the first 15-25 pages of the volume. A very rare book, in lesser condition, but acceptable overall.
