John-Chappel Woodhouse, educated at Christ Church and he wrote and published Annotations on the Apocalypse in 1805. Wollaston, the author, (1660-1724) devoted his life to writing treatises on religious questions. The Religion of Nature Delineated upholds the intellectual theory of morality of which Samuel Clarke, Newtons disciple was the chief proponent. It has been documented that Benjamin Franklin set this work up for printing. It is the third edition of Wollaston's work. The first edition of 1722 was small, filled with uncorrected errors and sold without the authors knowledge or consent. In 1724 the printer Palmer reprinted the work with Wollastons corrections. It is said in his Auto-biography Franklin reports that he composed the second edition Lowndes has this from Franklin ? Franklin disagreed with Wollaston and wrote in response to Wollaston A Dissertation on Liberty and Necessity, Pleasure and Pain, which appeared in London in 1725, Scarce if not rare with this ownership history.
