Chicago: The Preston Publishing Co., 1895. First Edition. Cloth. Very Good/No Jacket. Assume First Edition, HB/ no DJ, VG condition. 705 pages. Illus w/ over 300 engravings. Green cloth binding shows little wear, esp. for age; light rubbing, light wear at top and bottom of spine. NO frays, bumps, soil, etc. Paste down title & publisher labels on spine are sunned, but legible at angle in light. Spine itself NOT sunned or discolored. Endpapers toned & somewhat brittle. Free endpapers show minor chipping at edges. ALL edges of text block are gold gilt- which is beautiful- shiny & completely intact. Text lightly toned, moderately toned in margins; TIGHT, clean & unmarked. Endpaper cracks at front & back hinges, NOT extending to spine binding. Covers, spine & text block are FIRMLY attached. Quite nice, very presentable copy. Oversize (10 x 8"") & heavy (almost 5 lbs.). ***Reliable & fast! (65)""
