London: Simpkin, Marshall & Co., 1872 First edition hardcover in small decorated blindstamped boards. An early memoir of the battlefields of the Franco-Prussian war. 119 pp. plus 3 pp. of advertisements. Some full page illustrations. Book measures 6.5" by 4.5". The binding is cracked and quite shaken, but holding. There is wear and soiling to boards, two names and some figures on the rear of the frontispiece. A Fair to Good copy. Photographs on request.
