Map on back cover. 2 plates depicting cruisers "New York" and "Philadelphia." Canal cross section diagrams. Softcover. Chipped spine ends. Owner's signature at top of front cover, faint stains, former owner's label on title page. Glue to title page is a typewritten letter from Thomas Martindale, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Canal Commission, to W. B. Stonhead (?), August 1895 (same man who signed cover).
