HARDCOVER, bound in contemporary cloth-backed marbled boards, original printed wrapper laid-down, shelf labels to spine, old institutional stamps and markings. In fine condition. Overall an excellent copy. ~ First and only French edition. Translated from the official Japanese Field Service Regulations, a copy of which is at Rikugunsho Dainikki, Japan's archive of the Army. Translated and annotated by Colonel Charles-Pierre-René-Victoire Corvisart (1857-1939). He was commander of the 20th Dragoon Regiment and later became a military attaché at the French Embassy in Japan. I-2 IN
