About This Item

George G Harrap & Co, London, 1910. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/No Jacket. Complete. A wistfully charming copy. Most memorably illustrated by Pogany. Green boards with gilt titling and decoration (benign). The boards have wear about the edges, corners, seams from shelving, stacking, handling. The spine has wear to head and foot. Gilt titling is a little hand-worn. There is scuffing, there are handling and storage marks. However, they are also steady, sound. Decorated end papers. The colours of the illustrations and colour-printing are fresh, lively, enlivening. The contents have foxing throughout - principally about the borders. The presentation, the boldness of the print and fonts, the gentility of the tipped-in plates, the energy of the line-drawings still engulf the reader with joy and contentment. The pages (rough cut) are thick, healthy, sure, healthy, comfortable. fk. Our orders are shipped using tracked courier delivery services.
