Armaciotto de' Ramazzotti was a 15th-century Italian nobleman who held prestigious positions in high royal courts. He served in the ranks for Giovanni Bentivoglio as well as Pope Julius II and other popes into the 16th-century. However, his life's achievement is best summed up by his knighthood by the Order of the Golden Spur, an impressive feat in the Catholic Church.

This book being #174 of an edition of 550 copies. The book was set in English Monotype Scotch at Golgonooza Letter Foundry by Julia Ferrari and Dan Carr. Text printed by Heritage Printers on paper made at Carterie Enrico Magnani. Photographs by Aaron Siskind who also signed the book. Photogravure plates made by Paul Taylor and printed them with Clary Nelson at Renaissance Press on Richard de Bas paper. The book is NF with only some fading on the spine. Cornelius Jansen was an early 17th-century bishop from Flanders known for his involvement in the movement known as Jansenism. He wrote numerous biblical commentaries including "Commentary on Proverbs of Solomon". First published in 1567, Jansen's 'Proverbs' is a chapter-by-chapter commentary on Proverbs based on the original Hebrew text with comparisons to the book of Song of Solomon.
This particular 1586 edition of Jansen's Proverbs commentary is considerably rare – in fact, according to the USTC, only five examples are known to exist in institutions worldwide!

1648 RARE Lanfranc 11th c. Archbishop of Canterbury Metaphysics Philosophy FOLIO
Lanfranc was an 11th-century Italian jurist known for his conversion to a Benedictine monk in Normandy. Lanfranc eventually became known as Lanfranc of Canterbury when he became the Archbishop of Canterbury. While few written works of Lanfranc exist today, his best-known book was 'De Corpore et Sanguine Domini' – a metaphysical work describing the differences between substance and accident. This, along with Lanfranc's other minor works, is included in this 1648 Lutetia edition.

1583 1ed Martyrology of Monk Usuard Saint Bede Eusebius Famed Medieval Martyrs

Usuard was a 9th-century Benedictine monk who is primarily remembered for his book "Martyrology" – a work that was the most famous work of its kind through much of the Middle Ages. Curiously, Usuard, according to many of the earliest manuscripts, used the work of Saint Bede, Florus of Lyon, and Saint Ado and their studies into martyrs and saints. Notable figures covered in this work include Eusebius, John the Baptist, Gregory the Great, Pope Marcellus I, Saint Peter the Apostle, Saint Stephen, and many others.

This 1583 edition was collected and edited by Molanus, a 16th-century Louvain theologian.
