London: Secker & Warburg, 1967. First Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. Signed by Author(s). 2nd Printing SECOND PRINTING OF FIRST EDITION 1967. Anonymously inscribed and SIGNED by John Cleare on the title page. Original grey boards with silver lettering spine. The book covers are clean and not faded, previous owner name blacked out on front pastedown (short swipe of black pen) otherwise no owner marks or writing on any pages other than signed inscription by Cleare on title page, some foxing on top edge of text block but no foxing on page faces, tight binding. The original dust jacket has thin loss lower front panel, small loss bottom of spine, rubbing top spine, 3cm tear upper rear near spine with crinkle marks, front flap corner clipped with new price sticker added "2.10 net". The book measures 246mm tall x 186mm, and has 127 pages, 32 b/w photos, 1 map. Excellent photos (by Cleare) & well written text (by Smythe) of the fine climbers of the 1960s including Joe Brown and Don Whillans. PHOTOS ARE OF THE ACTUAL BOOK BEING OFFERED.
