Very Rare First edition 1928 hardcover by a New Zealand authoress, Jean Devanny. She was a pioneer writer and the author of "The Butcher Shop". The spine of the jacket states this book is "a powerful study of a woman's personality in a remote New Zealand bush town". The text has no writing and is in good condition with only lightly faded pages. The jacket is worn with a few tears and crinkles plus rubbing, but still colorful. It is adhering to the cloth covered boards and there is foxing to boards. Hinges are intact. Good binding.
