This is one of the most striking editions of the Rubáiyát, the illustrations by the little-known Ronald Balfour (1896-1941) combining the eroticism and grotesquerie of Beardsley with elements of Kay Nielsen and art deco to give a flamboyant Jazz Age rendering.
