About This Item
Rumford Chemical Works , 1943. Hardcover. Acceptable. 210 p., name of former owner on front end page with tape marks from removed cut-out recipe; occasional penciled notations on several pages; strong though somewhat age-toned paper; inlaid recipe from newspaper has left mark on paper; many b&w photos; binding firm; red boards bumped at corners and smudges; rubbing at crown and foot of spine. What is interesting that most of the pages are stain- and smudge-free, but the cake section has many indications of enthusiasm: "Grandmother's 1-2-3-4 Cake," "Boston Cream 'Pie';" "Inexpensive Fruit Cake;" "Marshmallow cake;" Upside-Down Cake;" "Dutch Apple Cake;" "Potato Flour Sponge Cake;"Dundee Cake" are among those that received marks of approval.
