Hardcover. 8vo. 206pp, plus 6-pages of ads, illustrated with a full-page frontis plate by Gooch, tan cloth with black lettering and decoration, light general wear-only, previous owner's name / date in ink at front fly, overall very clean and bright copy, in a clipped, lightly worn and soiled dust jacket with creasing noted at lower half of front panel, spotting at spine, shallow chipping at some edges, and a few red ink smudges at rear panel, now housed in protective Brodart. Faults noted in pictures. This is #17 in the Ruth Fielding Series. Alice B. Emerson was a pseudonym used by the Stratemeyer Syndicate for the Betty Gordon and Ruth Fielding series books.
