London: Griffith and Farran, 1873. "With historical preface and explanatory notes" - Bound in half leather, spine and corners, title label to spine. Marbled papered boards, and endpapers.xviii, 420 pages. 5.25 X 7.75 inches. A poor copy, the spine is detached on one side and teh leather spine is very worn with missing sections, the boards are well rubbed all around. The front board is attatched only by three stretched cords, so is fairly weak, the front free endpaper, fly leaf, and half title page are loose. Rear board quite firm, and contents all quite good, and the pages are quite clean throughout, no marking ownership names etc. A previous owner has sticthed together a hessian jacket for the book. Reading copy or suitable for restoration, or rebinding.. First Edition. Half Leather. Poor/No Jacket.
