About This Item

1758 Cyprian Bishop of Carthage Complete Works Early Christian MARTYR FOLIO

"It is a persistent evil to persecute a man who belongs to the grace of God. It is a calamity without remedy to hate the happy."

― Cyprian

Cyprian was an Early Church bishop of Carthage from the 3rd-century. Cyprian was the first to write about the primacy of the Pope as it was set out in "The Unity of The Catholic Church". Most of his writings surround pastoral ministry and addressing many of the issues with the Roman government. He also determined prayer to be "the only refuge of the Christian".
