A bright, internally clean copy, with slight rubbing and bumping to board edges, slight sunning, cracking and rubbing to spine, bearing previous owner's inscription on verso of half title.

NY: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1920. 12mo, xii 278pp. Olive green cloth stamped in gilt, brown, black and white. Two color pictorial endpapers; 6 full-color plates. A bright, internally clean copy with slight rubbing and bumping around exterior edges of boards and minute warping to front and rear boards.

First editions. The adventures of 5-year-old Giddy as he is brought to the fantastical world of the Sandman's Forest and interacts with the talking animals that live there. Wonderfully brought to life by Paul Bransom's spectacular full-color plates. Bransom is most noted as the first artist to illustrate The Wind in the Willows in 1913 with 10 color plates, the 1908 first edition just having a line-drawing frontispiece.
