New York: Farrar, Straus and Giroux, 1964. Hardcover. Stated First Edition, First Printing. 12mo. xvi. 328pp. Bound in the original publisher quarter cloth over paper covered boards. Signed and inscribed by the author on the front endpaper: With my friendship and best wishes, Thomas Merton. NEAR FINE in Very Good dust jacket protected in a removable mylar cover. The book itself with just a hint of shelf rubbing at the corners, otherwise is Fine/As New. The dust jacket shows marginal shelf rubbing along the edges, several small light scuffs, two short ink marks of the back panel, otherwise is not price-clipped remaining bright, colorful and distinct. As pictured.
