Halifax. Charles Annand, Publisher. 1869. Hardcover. 21.5cm, ii,755p. with 2 folding facsimile documents, in the original dark green cloth, a very good to fine copy. (atl) Thomas Beamish Akins (1809-1891) was born in Liverpool, N.S. and studied law in the office of Beamish Murdock, whom he assisted in the preparation of his history of Nova Scotia. He became the first commissioner of Public Records in the province and prepared this title to collate the documents in the Archives which dealt primarily with the expulsion of the Acadians.
