London: John Murray, 1882. 1st Edition . Very Good Minus. 5.75 x 9 inches (14.5 x 22.5 cm). Blue cloth binding. Rubbing to boards, slight wear to edges of spine and corners of boards. Paper private library label to spine, a few marks to front board. First few pages appear to have been re-glued and there are a couple of tape repairs to inner margin. Good solid binding, clean text throughout. Gift inscription to leading blank, dated 1884. Includes Stanley's funeral sermons for Charles Dickens, Sir John Herschel, Lord Palmerston, Dr. David Livingstone, Charles Kingsley, Sir Charles Lyell, Thomas Carlyle, and others. Scarce.
