About This Item
This is a first edition (1991) of Seton Gordon: The Life and Times of a Highland Gentleman, by the Canadian author Raymond Eagle. (It's an actual first edition: the American editions dated 1992 also state first editions.)
Seton Gordon CBE (1886-1977) was a Scottish naturalist, photographer and folklorist. He is famous for his 31 books on the natural history of Scotland, and he was a noted photographer of birds--he was the first to photograph a golden eagle. He was also very active in Scottish culture and acted as a piping judge at many gatherings.
This copy is inscribed, to the original owners, at the title page, by the author.
It's oversized - 8" x 10".
The dust jacket (unclipped) has minor shelfwear.
There is a liquid spill to the front endpaper--you could have a professional remove that page. It has one dogear and a tiny bit of shelfwear/rubbing to the bottom of the book.
Otherwise, it's in perfect condition.
