Lite Spine DJ Fade ,John Bartley, a famous detective, is invited to the wedding of the daughter of his friend, Frank Rice, a millionaire and collector of rare books who owns Watch Hill, a beautiful Country Home. On the day of the wedding Rice is found murdered in the library, with the door locked on the inside. A mahogany box containing 5,000 dollars in gold and a rare book worth about 30,000 dollars are missing, but the wedding presents and the other valuable books remain untouched.
