Shadows in Their Blood; The Prince of Darkness; Touch and Go

The Detective Book Club produced volumes of three crime novels from 1942 to 1999. Originally monthly, near the end they dwindled down to just a few per year. Many famous detective and crime novelists had their early works featured in DBC editions. Often, books were published in DBC editions before, or at the same time as they were published in mass market form. A little about our authors:

Marion Babson: Babson had a writing career that ran from 1971 to 2012. She passed away in 2017. She wrote three short detective series, the longest being the seven edition Trixie and Evangeline series, but Babson also wrote 32 stand alone detective novels. Altogether Babson published 45 novels. This is the third novel featuring Trixie and Evangeline.

P. C. Doherty: Some writers find one muse and stick to it. Sue Grafton wrote about little else than her Kinsey Milhone character. Agatha Christie had a small party of sleuths. P. C. Doherty has 14 series (including one just started in 2018) under seven different pen names. He has published upwards of 120 different novels and has had stories appear in other people's collections as well. This is Doherty's fifth Hugh Corbet historical mystery (out of 21).

M. R. D. Meek: Meek was a British writer of mysteries. All fifteen of her works under her own name are in the Lennox Kemp series. Meek wrote two Toby Wilde novels under the pen name Alison Cairns. Meek died in 2009. This is the tenth Lennox Kemp novel.
