A near fine copy [issued without printed dust jacket]. . Instead of being numbered, this copy has the printed word "copy" crossed out in ink on the colophon page, it is unnumbered (as issued), signed by William Styron on colophon page, and the second flyleaf is inscribed by the publisher: "Presentation Copy for John Cheever" [presumably one of only four copies for presentation]. Octavo, cloth, 33 pages.
