About This Item
HarperCollins, 2006. Very Good/Unknown. Octavo, hardcover, near fine in lightly edgeworn beige pictorial dj with small closed tear. In 1811 the French occupy most of Spain. When an attack on a French-held bridge goes disastrously wrong, a wounded Sharpe, accompanied by Patrick Harper, along with a wounded Brigadier Moon, ends up in Cadiz which is under seige by the French. While there, the British ambassador gets Sharpe to help recover some letters he wrote to a prostitute which are being used to stir the Spanish against the British by some Spaniards who wish an alliance with France. Eventually British & Spanish forces from within set out to relieve the seige of Cadiz which climaxes with the Battle of Barbasso. 337 pp.
