About This Item

Garden City: Doubleday & Co., 1978. First Edition. . Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. Early in his career, while still holding down a day job as a newspaper editor, Estleman, well-known today for his westerns and his crime novels, especially those featuring Detroit PI, Amos Walker, tried combining mystery and horror in this Sherlock Holmes pastiche in which Holmes and Watson track a series of bizarre nocturnal crimes as they try to prevent Count Dracula from finding a safe haven in England. First Edition, first printing. About 6 x 8 1/2 inches, 214 pages including acknowledgments at end, quarter bound in red cloth over black paper-covered boards. Pictorial front dustjacket panel shows an illustration shows meeting beween Holmes, Watson and Dracula against a tan background with "Dracula" in red and rest of lettering in black. Back DJ panel contains an excerpt from the novel, all black print against a white background. Lower corner of front board bumped, top edge of text lightlly soiled, o/w boards and text are clean, complete, unmarked and without significant flaws. No remainder marks. The dustjacket shows minor wear at corners and spine ends and light soiling on back panel. Not price-clipped. A collectable copy of Estleman's third novel.
