About This Item
New York: Harper & Bros, 1882. Sir Charles George Walpole (1848-1924) wrote notable books on legal history; his history of Ireland is a nice example of Victorian scholarship, an important work, and rather scarce. WorldCat reports only two copies held. This is a Very Good Plus copy of the First American Edition. Five maps and several appendices and tables. Brown cloth binding with gilt lettering on the spine. Clean and fresh text; quite supple; 423 pages, indexed. Internally, this is a Fine copy, but there are a few small bumps to the cover that lower the grade a bit. Still, a solid copy. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. First American Edition.. Hard Cover. Very Good Plus/No Jacket.
