About This Item

New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1983. First edition. Hardcover. Near Fine/Near Fine. Following the publication of this collection of essays and short stories drawn upon the theme of aging, Fisher came to be elevated to the status of official spokesperson for The Old. Although she was greatly debilitated by Parkinson's disease, Fisher managed to live her last years productively and graciously. Original gray paper-covered boards over a beige cloth spine, with gilt titles. Just a hint of yellowing to the dust jacket, with one very short tear to the top edge of the front panel; otherwise a near fine copy.
