Van Vogt, According To An Account By His Wife, Haunted The Bookstores For Decades Of Hollywood To Find Paperback Reprints Oif His 100 Books, Because Although He Would Be Paid For The First Printing, Often, If Not Usually, He Failed To Receive Royalties For Successive Printings Until He Could Write Them Telling Them He Had A Copy In Hand, Then Sometimes Receiving The Royalties With An Apology For The "Oversight" (As If The Failure Wasn't Habitual, Too Common To Be Otherwise Than Intentional, And A Widespread "Error" Throughout The Industry). Some Wear, Very Good.

Synopsis

Slan is a science fiction novel written by A. E. van Vogt, as well as the name of the fictional race of superbeings featured in the novel. The novel was originally serialized in the magazine Astounding Science Fiction (September - December 1940). It was subsequently published in hardcover in 1946 by Arkham House, in an edition of 4,051 copies. Lydia van Vogt, A. E. van Vogt's widow, and Kevin J. Anderson wrote a sequel to Slan, titled Slan Hunter, based on an unfinished draft by van Vogt.
