UK 1st Edition Uncorrected Proof. 13 x 19.6 cm brown paper covers with black titles and 1962 date to the fron, 253pp. The publisher's original brown paper cover is printed with black titles and states 'Uncorrected proof. Probable Price 18s. Probable publication date February 1963'. Just underneath it also has 1962. The date on the title page is also 1963. The covers have a few creases front and back and there is a 3mm closed tear at the top edge of the back cover. Internally, the pages are very clean. The first page has a crease at the top edge and the last five leaves have creases towards the top of the fore edge. A rare proof copy of this Ray Bradbury classic in very good condition and now protected in a fully removable clear rigid polyester dust jacket - not shown in the images Interestingly there is a 1962 date to the front cover and 1963 date to the title page. Uncommon in this format, and in excellent condition other than what was done to it in FSG's mailroom: a small photocopy of the dustjacket copy proof, with ISBN, publication date, and price, was taped to the inner front cover. Once FSG would get these proofs from Crane Duplicating Service, they'd put an ink stamp on the cover in which they would fill in the price and publication date, which they did here in red ballpoint pen.
