Dublin: printed for P. Wilson, J. Exshaw, J. Edsall, [et al.], 1752. 16mo, pp. [4], iv, [268]; lexicon in double column; contemporary full sheep, gilt decorated spine in 5 compartments, the number '8' in 1; a bit rubbed, but still very good. With an inscription on the endpaper: "Andrew J. Giuse to my friend Martin Emerick February 28 1898." And on the rear flyleaf: "John McGreevy book. 1818." "First published in 1745 as 'An easy spelling-dictionary' which formed volume 3 of the first edition of 'The circle of the sciences', but was afterwards discontinued as part of the series and became a separate publication entitled 'A spelling dictionary of the English language on a new plan' (Roscoe J71)" (ESTC). Alston, IV. 563 (locating just 2 copies - Oxford and the BL); ESTC locates just 5 copies, only the Morgan and Texas in the U.S. OCLC adds Princeton.
