This is an apparent reissue with a twist of original title by the publisher of the 1869 Women of New York or the Under-world of a Great City by Ellington - a pseudonym according to OCLC, possibly for James Dabney McCabe in the opinion of one scholar (citation on request). Pages 31/2 have the outer upper corner cut away and there is a tear in the page at 397/8..
