New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1952. Advance Reading Copy. Paperback. Very Good Plus/Very Good Plus. White wraps with illustrated wrap around dust jacket glued to spine, 8vo (8-1/4 inches tall), pp. vii, (viii), 403, (404), stated first edition. Volume with a very slight roll to spine, occasional spotting and age toning. Price-intact DJ with light wear, tiny chips to spine ends and an 1-1/2 inch closed crack to bottom edge near heel of spine. Inscribed by the author on the ffep "To Francis Vater / with best wishes --- / Harold Robbins.". Apart from the minor condition issues noted, a bright, clean copy. DJ artwork by John O'Hara Cosgrave II. The Advance Reading Copy, preceeding the first edition, and basis for the 1958 Elvis Presley film, King Creole.

Synopsis

A Stone For Danny Fisher is a very serious, early novel by Harold Robbins that looks at the effect of the Great Depression on a lower-middle class Jewish family. Written in 1952 it is actually set in the period up to 1944.
