[Butte, MT], 1908. Large format. Silver gelatin photograph [25 cm x 20 xm] / [10" x 8"] on a black mount [30 cm x 25 cm] / [12" x 10"] with a decorative white floral border and rounded corners. Ink notation in the margin at the foot. Gentle rubbing to extremities. Strong contrasts. Nice view of four miners underground with drills and other heavy machinery. Anaconda Copper Mine, located near Butte, Montana, was a leading producer of copper across the entire North American continent, and made its owners some of the richest men in America, and made Marcus Daly one of the 'Copper Kings' of Butte.
