With frontispiece portrait of Galileo facing the engraved title (figures of Aristotle, Ptolemy, and Copernicus) engraved by Joseph Mulder (1659-1710); woodcut illustrations and text diagrams. Contemporary blind-stamped calf (neatly rebacked, inner hinges repaired), red morocco and gilt spine label. A fine copy from the library of Robert Clavering, University College, Oxford, 1700, with his signature and a manuscript note in Latin on flyleaf concerning the printing history of this book.
