Persia tamm Minorsky, Vladimir Fyodorovich, 1877 – 1966. Tadhkirat al-muluk: A Manual of Safavid Administration (circa 1137/1725). Persian text in facsimile (B.M. Or. 9496). Translated and explained by V. Minorsky. Cambridge, England: W. Heffer & Sons for the trustees of the "E.J.W. Gibb Memorial" and published by Messrs. Luzac & Company, (New Series, 16), 1943, 218 pages, appendices, index followed by 130 pages of Persian text with one plate. This is the original hardcover in black cloth, gilt lettering on spine, some shelf wear, some foxing to side paper edge, intermittent pencil checks in margins by the scholarly professor who seldom wrote in his books. A good plus to very good copy of the first edition by the great Russian diplomat/orientalist. He dedicated the work "To the orientalists of the U.S.S.R. in their ordeal". $135 Box 70, I, 6
