A detailed account of a voyage by a '49er from Philadelphia to San Francisco around Cape Horn in 1849-50, calling at Rio de Janerio and at Juan Fernandez (Robinson Crusoe's Island). Graff 193; Kurutz 37; Cowan (1933), p. 35: "The author for many years was a well-known character in San Francisco." And also an early collector of California coins.
