About This Item
Paris: The Black Sun Press, 1929. A lovely copy of this first edition. One of the 500 copies on Holland Van Gelder Zonen. Numbered to the colophon. Clean and tidy dust wrapper over soft covers. Glassine wrapper protects this. Glassine has a touch of light creasing. As a frontis is a portrait of the author by C. Brancusi. The book comes with the front and rear boards of the slipcase, bottom edge and the silk ribbon. This is in pieces, and lacks the rear edge and top edge. The boards themselves are clean and neat, and would be suitable for a binders restoration to make a renewed slipcase. Overall, a very attractive copy in excellent condition (slipcase aside). This is the limited first printing of the "Work in progress" that would eventually become "Finegan's Wake." XV, [I], 55 [iii]. Pages. 210 by 170mm (8¼ by 6¾ inches). . XV, [I], 55 [iii]. Pages. 210 par 170mm (8¼ par 6¾ pouces).
