About This Item
Edinburgh and London: William Blackwood and sons, 1841 Book. Fair. Hardcover. viii, 403, [1]; [iv], 391, [1]; [iv], 429, [1] pages + plate of arms of Tittlebat Titmouse to vol 2. Worn and well read condition, probably once part of a lending library as the rear pastedown on vol 1 seems to cover several names. Bookplates to each volume of Peter M Jeavons and Richard A Jeavons. Vol 2 lacks the front free end paper and the bookplate there is on the rear of the title page. Bound in worn and crude quarter leather over paper covered boards, all worn and joints split on vol 2. Tears to all spines. Pages are browned and stained throughout. Some ink and pencil notes and one pencil drawing. Lower margins of pages i-iv of vol 3 have been torn away, but no loss to text. A few tips of corners have also been torn away. Author not named on title pages..
