Atlanta, GA:: Nexus Press,, 1995.. 30 cards, 1 folded single sheet. Mohawk paper In card box with slip and slot closure. Sgined by the artist. Judy Anderson: "This book was created during an artist residency at Nexus Press where I worked with a press-man on a Heidelberg Press. 500 large sheets of Mohawk paper were overprinted with 15 offset litho plates images and trimmed to twenty-nine cards that fit into a paper box. The overprinted images depict the contradictory treatment of women in our contemporary world. Text from the daily news is collaged with text from advertising. The abstract and symbolic images of women respond to the objectification of woman as a beautiful object, to love, own, violate and control. " Colophon: "This book began in outrage, a response to the increasing reports of violence against women in the world. It's ending marks a beginning, of understanding and balance. Text fragments were taken from the daily news, juxtaposed with one woman's voice.

Handmade paper by the artist. Linocut printed, punched and strung. Erica Spitzer Rasmussen: "When I was little, my father told me that eating tomatoes would make me 'big, strong and hairy-chested.' When you're young, of course, it's difficult to separate truth from fiction. I believed my father and stopped eating tomatoes. My brother, who heard the same tall tale around the dinner table, continued to eat tomatoes and you should see how hairy he turned out. 'Hot Tomatoes' are representations of the ever-present ominous fruit from my childhood that animated the theater of my mind. They function as picture books and as sculptural objects.

Materials: cotton, gelatin, acrylic ink, PVA, plastic, waxed linen thread, and Nepalese Lokta. Coptic and drum binding. Typewritten text. Button and string closure. Numbered. Erica Spitzer Rasmussen: " 'A Blessing and a Curse" is a typewritten book that documents the world-wide practices and developments in the story of menstruation. From the ingenious use of materials used to impede blood flow through modern patents for commercial markets, this artists' book explores the realities of a perfectly natural but taboo subject. The content is both universal and personal, in that the final page commemorates the author's reproductive cycle coming to an end. The pages emulate mini pads, dyed in crimson ink.

This fabulous poster was created especially for the featured author of Texas Writers Month in 2000 held in Austin, Texas by graphic designer Marc English. It is printed on heavy high quality coated stock in metalic inks: silver and bronze and laid over a duotone photograph of the rugged Big Bend country of West Texas. The poster quotes a long scene from McCarthy's BLOOD MERIDIAN with drops of bronze red blood for emphasis. This is a stunning visual and carries the impact of the original text depicting a scene of horror as the savages line up on horseback along the ridge their glass beads and painted bodies caught forever in the sun's hot glare as they anticipate the massacre that would follow. Only McCarthy could make this scene so vivid you might have to put the book down and never finish it.
