About This Item

Koln: Taschen, 2000. Hardcover. Good. Heavy book. 600 p With English, German, French captions. A Thousand Hounds "brings together almost 500 photographs of or about dogs, many of which have rarely been seen. Spanning over 150 years, this book chronicles the life and times of man and dog." This is an incredible book. There are photos on the front in WW I and WW II showing soldiers with dogs; shots during the Great Depression; taken in the Antarctic with the Shackleton expedition; celebrities and their dogs...and many, many more. Very likely, the majority of the photographs have never been seen by the public. An amazing collection. Book is in good condition. Sunning to cover, minor surface rubbing and edgewear, a small scratch on back cover along with a small spot where rubbed through to board (size of pencil eraser). The big flaw is the front cover's upper corner. It looks to have been 'chewed" with the tip missing and the end ragged and showing the board (missing piece about the size of small fingernail). Interior is unmarked, but center page is detached and a little edge worn. The pages surrounding the center page (pgs 325 to 336) have been set into the book upside down. The rest of the book is correct and with the exception of the loose page, clean and tight.

About Trolls Treasure

Home-based, online sales only. I am running out of space to keep my collection of books, but I cannot bypass any chance offered at searching out some interesting venue offering books. I dithered for quite some time over this problem, and went right on buying books, until it occurred to me that I could make room for new purchases if I started selling some of my books. So, here I am, a small business, but offering personal service. Happy to answer questions.
