Gilt titles to spine and decoration to front board. Very slight wear to head and tail of dust jacket. Small (< 1") closed tear to rear panel of dust jacket. Corners bumped. Edges of text block a bit dusty. *Signed* and inscribed in Brautigan's distinctive hand "This Copy is for Jeanette" on title page. Stylish ownership signature of Francois Seguin "Fev. 1982- N.Y. - MTL Local!" on page [i] and his pen annotation to page 7. Possibly the copy of Canadian producer Francois Seguin. A tight copy, uncommon signed. First trade edition of Brautigan's 9th novel and penultimate before his death in 1984. Brautigan, a poet, novelist, and influential member of California's counter culture, was a recluse and died in his home in 1984. Hence, copies of his books, especially later books, are uncommon signed. 1980
