Philippe Dufour's "Curious Treatise of Coffee, Tea, & Chocolate" is a fascinating 17th-century on the health and wellness benefits of confections. Dufour, a Marseille-born spice dealer and apothecary, was obsessed with tea, cocoa, and coffee and their role in society around the world. This treatise deals with proper preparations of these drinks, how and when to drink them, different varieties from around the world, and observations their effects.

Note that this 1693 edition contains the highly desirable frontispiece which depicts a Turk, a Chinese man, and a Native American Indian each drinking their own hot beverage. Other illustrations throughout this book depict tea leaves, cocoa plants, coffee bean plants, all in their native lands and much more!
