All the volumes are bright and tight with no marks, etc. The four volumes are internally clean and bright in tight bindings with no marks to text. Written as an historical novel of 4th Century Greece, this profides a wealth of information on the period. Jean-Jacques Barthélemy (1716-1795) was a classical scholar, archaeologist and numismatist. He was elected to the London Royal Society in 1789. Barthelemy wrote technical works on archeology, is known for deciphering the Phoenecian alphabet, but "Travels of Anacharsis the Younger in Greece" made him famous as it was very popular, sparked an interest in Ancient Greece, and was used in schools.
