London: Printed for the Author, 1703. First Edition. Hardcover. viii, 566pp + index and errata. Modern full clay brown sheepskin, spine decorated in gold and with vellum labels lettered in gold. A dictionary of dreams, often categorized both in an elaborate and inordinate manner. This title was the first in a series of books on dreams, based on the writer's own oneiric experiences and shrouded in mysticism. Text block is heavily toned. The edges of the first few leaves are brittle and those of the title page are chipped. Probably lacks a preliminary blank. A very good copy. Uncommon. ; Octavo.

This book is bound with leather covers and a cloth spine. There is a label on the front cover which is not readable. New endsheets have been added at some point in the book's long history, but the original endsheets and covers are present. There is a former owner's inscription on the original front endsheet. Pages are intact and the binding is tight. The book contains black & white drawings of muscles, bones, and bandages. There is an index for medicines and an extensive table of contents of body parts, diseases, syndromes, and treatments. Printed in the year 1846, the book itself is, in essence, a time capsule that portrays how medicine was practiced aboard an early nineteenth century sailing ship. This will make a wonderful addition to the library of the collector of medical memorabilia.

Volume II Very Good with upper outside corner of front board creased with corresponding light split to front pastedown. “Notes” volume with moderate scuffing to covers including 5” thin scrape across front board affecting only one letter. All three volumes with clean text and in sturdy bindings. Very well-preserved with gilt lettering on the Junks volumes almost bright as new.
