This work was initially published in two volumes in 1914, with a third volume appearing in 1933. It remains a standard reference work on the woody plants of Britain.Written by William Jackson Bean, a botanist and curator of Kew Gardens during the 1920s.The seventh edition of this work, which was revised and expanded numerous times. Complete in three volumes. Illustrated with in-text vignettes throughout, as well as plates bound to the rear of the work; volume I contains forty plates, volume II fifty-two, and volume III forty-one. Collated and complete. A lovely set of this referential work on British plants. In the publisher's original green cloth binding. Externally, lovely, with just a touch of shelf wear. Internally, all volumes firmly bound. A few spots to the fore-edge, not affecting the pages, which remain bright and clean. Near Fine
