An authoritative handbook to all the species of trees, both indigenous and naturalized, known to occur in Africa south of the Zambezi. Includes a botanical description and distribution map for every indigenous species, a drawing of a typical leaf and/or fruit of every species, the English and Afrikaans common name(s), and information on the medicinal and poisonous properties of trees and their association with magic and folklore. The contents are a bit musty. In the original pictorial boards and acetate dust wrappers. A bright, very good copy.
