Paris: Rothschild, 1889-90. In all, 651 pages with 372 figures plus colour frontispiece and 12 heliogravures. Half bound in leather 43.5x31cms. Comprehensive survey of the magnificent treasure of Petrossa, Roumania, discovered in 1837. The treasure includes gold, silver and bronze vessels,ornaments and jewellery, gilt bronze, agate and glass vessels, and coins. The descriptions are accompanied by line-drawings throughout. An important reference work for migrationary and earlier goldsmiths' work. Text in French.
